ABOUT THE DOCTOR
The doctor was born and raised in Larnaca. After graduating from St. George’s high-school and after his military service, he studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After graduating, initially brought in internal medicine for two years and after that in the Endocrinology department of the Athens Evangelismos hospital for four years. He was named specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, after written and oral examinations. He worked, for short periods, in the endocrinological departments of the University College Hospital in London and the University Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the US. Now, he works at the Syneseio Medical Centre in Larnaca, and the Apollonion Private Hospital in Nicosia.
He has published papers in Greek and international medical journals, while others have been announced in national and international conferences.
He served as president of the Endocrine Society of Cyprus and member of the Board of Larnaca Medical Association and the Diabetes Society. Now, he is deputy chairman of the Cyprus Association against Osteoporosis and Musculoskeletal Diseases, member of the Greek Endocrine Society, member of the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE). In 2004, he was set by the World Organisation Osteoporosis as the representative of Cyprus to the European Union Osteoporosis Consultation Panel, ie the European Commission Committee for osteoporosis issues.
He became champion in Greek national student, in national and Pancyprian tennis tournaments for doctors, and took part in the Balkan tennis struggles with the Greek national team. He is married and has one daughter.
